Trump Urges Europe to Cut Russian Oil, Press China to End Ukraine War

Trump to Europe: Cut Oil Deals with Russia Now

In a high-level call on Thursday, former U.S. President *Donald Trump* urged European leaders to *immediately halt the purchase of Russian oil* and *increase economic pressure on China* in a bid to bring the ongoing war in Ukraine to an end, according to a White House official speaking to CNN.

The virtual meeting, held with Ukrainian President *Volodymyr Zelensky* and a group of European leaders known as the *“Coalition of the Willing,”* focused on reinforcing international efforts to stop the conflict and secure Ukraine’s future against potential threats.

Following the discussion, French President *Emmanuel Macron* revealed that *26 countries* have pledged to support a possible *peacekeeping force*—pending a ceasefire agreement. However, Macron emphasized that *U.S. backing* for any security guarantees remains *crucial* to giving the coalition's actions legitimacy and strength.

As the war continues to reshape global alliances and economic strategies, Trump’s call for stronger European engagement signals growing urgency among Western powers to find a sustainable resolution.
